This event will focus on the role of safety, relationships, and compassionate connection in supporting individuals experiencing mental illness. The keynote presentation, “Scaling Safety,” by Kevin Becker, Psy.D., will explore how safety can be fostered at the individual, community, and systemic levels, drawing on his extensive experience in psychological trauma and crisis response.
The event will also include a panel discussion on the practical work of building safety and meaningful relationships with people served, including what has been effective and what challenges remain. Breakout sessions will further explore compassionate connections in everyday practice and the unique role of peers in promoting safety, wellness, and recovery.
The symposium offers an opportunity for reflection, learning, and recognition of those working to carry Stephanie’s legacy forward through compassionate, informed, and safety-focused care.
