This webinar discusses the services and main outcomes of the UMMS Child Trauma Training Center (CTTC) – a statewide project funded by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) through the NCTSN (National Child Traumatic Stress Network) with additional funding from the Lookout Foundation and the Department of Mental Health. The mission of CTTC is to improve identification of child trauma among professionals and increase access to evidence-based, trauma-informed services for youth and families in Massachusetts impacted by trauma. We will discuss the main goals of CTTC, including: 1) providing training to child serving professionals (within pediatrics, schools, law enforcements, courts) in trauma-informed care and practices; ii) referring children and families to evidence-based trauma treatment through a Centralized Referral System, LINK-KID; and 3) providing training to clinicians in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Moreover, we will present project outcomes measuring the impact of TF-CBT on child’s and caregiver’s symptoms and overall functioning from our first grant cycle (2012-2016).
