The State of Mental Health in America 2024

This report, compiled annually by MHA, relies on national survey data collected by key government agencies, including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Most data used were collected during 2022, the most recent year for which comprehensive data are available. State's performance is scored on 15 measures related to prevalence of mental health and substance use conditions and access to effective treatment.
