A guardianship terminates when the person or the guardian dies.  Chapter 190B § 5-310. A guardian may resign or may be removed by the court if the guardian is not capable of carrying out his or her duties. A guardianship may also be terminated upon petition of the person or other interested person, “when it appears that the guardianship is no longer necessary.” Chapter 190B § 5-311.
